baritesslerI drove over to my favorite mountain trail and then sat in the car, sipping on my mocha, and waiting to find the energy or desire to get out and go for a hike. I'm still working my way through a cold or what feels like a sinus infection for me. I used to get them often (they arrived while I was recovering from complications that happened during my son's birth). They came often during my recovery until I started doing acupuncture again weekly and healed from the birth. So this is the first sinus infection in a year or two. I sat in the car, waiting, pausing and checked my phone to find out that a local and beloved farm, Frog Belly Farm, had a terrible fire 5 days ago. All the families made it out safely. The horses jumped the fence to safety and they were able to save some pregnant goats. But many animals died in the fire and all of the buildings, except one totally destroyed. Frog Belly Farm is where we got Goat milk for our son when he was a baby because he was allergic to every kind of milk and I couldn't nurse due to birth complications for me and my son. I started crying immediately and proceeded to have one of those big car cries. And I cried hard. Once I was done I felt ready and eager to get out on my trail, to feel my body move and breathe and to get some time on this glorious mountain. Life, you slay me, sometimes. #nature #naturelover #natureselfie #lifedeath #bouldercolorado #boulder #colorado #reflection #grief #life #selfie #portait #mountain #trees
