At the end of the day, do you feel the weight of everything left undone? The laundry unfolded, the closet still unorganized, and let's not talk about the hard drive of unprinted pictures or the cabinet of unused scrapbook supplies.
.
At the end of the day, do you feel the pang of failure, of a job poorly done? The time you yelled, the dinner you burned, or the time your child had a temper tantrum in public and you got the dirty looks and you thought: If I was better, he would be better too.
.
{Maybe this is just me?}
.
Add in an especially rough week or season of life, and you can end up with too many nights ending with you adding up your failures. It can feel dark.
.
But here's the thing: if you were to sit down and write out everything you did do--the snuggles you gave, the boo-boos you kissed, the crusts you cut off, the reminders you gave to your child's teacher about the severity of his allergies, the toys you picked up, the laundry you moved (even if it's to the basket where it sits unfolded)...
.
If you were to count out the sweet moments from the day--the glimmers of lessons being learned, the toddler who plops himself down in your lap and runs his fingers thru your hair, the sweet voices engineering make-believe worlds where their brown stuffed bear can mother a hot pink stuffed dog...
.
Maybe if you stopped to count it all up you would see: you aren't behind. You aren't failing.
.
You might feel overwhelmed, but, really, you are overflowing with abundance. ❤
