recogniseau41. Donald Banu, Boigu Island, Torres Strait “I think it is very import that we are recognised. After all, we are the original inhabitants of the land and place that we call the Torres Strait, together with our Aboriginal brothers and sisters on the mainland.
Including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in the constitution will give a sense of belonging for who we are. It’s been a long time coming, and hopefully when we do go to a referendum, we will get the support of the majority of the Australian people.”
