A shorted lamp in Old Main caused a burnt odor in the building which prompted occupants to call Baylor Police. The police contacted Waco Fire Department, according to Leigh Ann Moffett, director of emergency management at Baylor. There was no fire or damage to the building. 
The power outage for building between Fifth and Ninth Streets from 1:43-2:10 pm was caused by unrelated high voltage work as part of the Seventh Street electrical project.
