michellecannonsmithI've got design on my mind this Monday! This chilly, dreary winter day has me, P & K all snuggled up with our favorite books. In wanting to create a comfy and inviting reading nook for them, I've shared some ideas on the blog (link in profile) And my big question is do I dare put my limited sewing skills to the test to DIY the chairs I'm really wanting for their space?! What would you do?

- mythreeweekfixI have always loved this accent wall you did!! And I say yes! Give the chairs a try! I bet you will surprise yourself at how good they turn out 👌🏼
- rachellecurrieA teepee or canopy is such a personal taste. Kids love to hide inside things & dream away, however if for a reading nook it can limit the natural light. I personally would go comfy seating & possibly some floor cushions for some variety for P & K or you & Brian to sit on next to them & decorate the walls for their imagination. I LOVE those bean bags. Such fun & the nautical look is lovely. I believe you could do them or find someone that can for you. My suggestion would be to sketch something out on some craft/drawing paper to get the shape & size correct & sew up a dummy one in a really cheap fabric to see how you go first before investing in good material for them. I can sew but am hopeless at doing zips. You could leave an opening big enough to stick the bag of foam beans in to empty it then carefully take out & hand sew up the closing (strong enough so that any jumping on them doesn't bust the seem). Whatever you do it will great. Good luck.
