Today we are at the Sulu-Suluwesi Seascape Sea-Turtle Workshop to discuss the future of the #conservation of sea turtles in the #Philippines.
The Philippines is home to five out of seven of the world's #turtle species: Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback, Loggerhead and Olive Ridley.
All are listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as either vulnerable, endangered or critically endangered.
Turtles, or in filipino pawikan, are essential to a healthy marine ecosystem. Gatherings like this are vital so we can find ways of working together across the country to safe guard these species.

If you want to find out more about the green turtle, head to our website for an awesome downloadable infographic by Nailah Alam
