A Gambian boy prays at a government hot spot, a reception center that doubles as a lodging station for unaccompanied minors in Pozzallo, Sicily, on May 17, 2016. Of the 150,000 migrants and refugees who arrived in Italy in 2015, the vast majority of people are coming from West Africa. This reception center currently hosts approximately 110 boys, who are supposed to remain there for a maximum of 72 hours before being transferred to a more permanent and comfortable center. Due to problems finding shelter, the Italian Government makes children remain there for one to two months. Residents complain of a lack of activities, sanitation and education.
