  • tyler_nugent23@abduldelati Somalia, Yemen, Iran, Iraq and Syria are all bad countries. There are so many other Muslim countries that are not affected by this.
  • soccerdoc_Much respect for you speaking out about this. Have always respected your hard work on the field but respect you as a person even now no matter your views. It takes a lot for a man of so much public attention to speak his mind despite the criticism to come. Much respect ✊🏼

  • jsquared1013@abduldelati It is NOT a "Muslim ban", otherwise there would be a lot more than 7 countries on the list. There have been thwarted attacks on the US from Somalia and Yemen in recent years, as well as thwarted attacks on Europe from Libya an Syria. The reason for Iran's place on the list is obvious. You know nothing about what is going on behind the scenes, but even to an outside observer, the situations in the countries on the list are obvious and the fact that they all have signifcant terror group presence should be clear as daylight. Stop swallowing the left's rhetoric, use your brain, examine the facts and think objectively.
  • jsquared1013@michaelbr4dley please stick to what you know, and let the professionals do the hard work. I'm not out there critiquing your performance at WC2014, because I don't know enough about playing midfield to know what I'm talking about. Your comments about this policy are even more misguided than my soccer analysis, because I at least played it in highschool and intramurally for my base team. You, frankly, know absolutely nothing about counter-terrorism and apparently know nothing about the region in question, either. Even so, it should be obvious even to an uninformed observer such as yourself that the "Muslim ban" is no such thing, as there are twenty-something Muslim-majority countries who are not on "the List", and the seven countries which are on the list have significant armed conflicts ongoing and are hotbeds of terror group activity. You can be forgiven for not knowing about the failed and thwarted terror attacks (targetting the US) that originated from Somalia and Yemen, since the media outlets you obviously prefer didn't really cover those instances very thoroughly. Nor did they cover the thwarted attacks on Europe from groups in Libya which were prevented, or the fact that most of the terrorists participating in the attacks in Europe recently gained experience or training in Syria. The TEMPORARY ban (in order to improve background check procedures for people coming from these active conflict areas) are not what the mainstream press has presented them to be. If it was a "Muslim ban", then why wasn't Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, Mali, Egypt, Eritrea, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Turkey, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, or Indonesia on the list? And those are merely the Muslim-majority countries I could remember off the top of my head. We don't expect athetes in general to be paragons of intelligence, but if you're going to take a stand, at least attempt a modicum of critical thought before ranting about something you don't fully understand, basing your rant on false information and flat out falsehood.
  • abduldelati@jsquared1013 I'm sorry but your lost man
  • jsquared1013@abduldelati care to include some facts or reason to back your opinion? You haven't countered with anything but a disagreement. And a disagreement with no backing is meaningless. Everything I have stated is factual. it is not a "ban on Muslims" if seven countries have restrictions and twenty-something other ones DON'T.
