  • nourishedkitchenMy body thrives on dairy - and on grass fed, cultured dairy in particular. Problem is that my little nursling has a sensitive tummy and when I eat anything with cow's milk, he pukes fountains.

So, milk, cream, yogurt and most cheeses are off my menu for now. But I was SO thrilled to see our local health food store carrying @bellwetherfarms yogurt which is made from ewe's milk and FAR more pleasant than goat's milk yogurt! It's more expensive than what I used to make at home from raw, local jersey milk but I'm so happy to have it.

  • nourishedkitchen@malstevens yes, all storebought yogurt is pasteurized; however, it is cultured and contains live and active bacteria. I'm not actually a fan of raw milk yogurt, and scald the milk when I make it at home
  • bellwetherfarmsWow! Thank you.
  • malstevens@nourishedkitchen I didn't think you could get raw at the store. I'll give this one a try. I've been using the White Mountain whole milk yogurt.

  • lwhydeI also survived on sheep milk yogurt when nursing my sensitive one! And goat milk kefir!
  • twinsontherunDairy is out for me, too, because of my little nursling 👶🏻 This yogurt sounds awesome.
  • mamasulliI'm extra excited about this yogurt because it's from Sonoma County where I live. 🤗👏🏼 Woohoo, I can't wait to try this!
  • nourishedkitchen@kismetkitten he seems fine with it (it's cows milk protein that's a big culprit for babies), but goat's milk yogurt is not something I care for. Goat cheese, though, I love.
  • kismetkitten@nourishedkitchen have you tried Nubian goat milk? We have them and the milk has no goaty taste it's very much like cows milk you might really enjoy it! ❤️
  • estherburgs@nourishedkitchen yummy 😋
