My Christmas vacation reading has been as eclectic as it has been wonderful. About to start The Underground Railroad and am kind of ridiculously excited about it. Hillbilly Elegy was delightful, sad, haunting and enlightening, all at the same time. And I'm partial to the author, but Because of Bethlehem was a much needed reminder of Immanuel and what that means for us. What are you reading this winter?? 🤓📚#vacationreading #books

  • melissachamalesI read your dad's book. Now I am reading Tim Teabow 's book.
  • deviduerrmeierHillbilly Elegy looked very interesting. I'm almost done with Rhythms of Rest by Shelly Miller, highly recommend!
  • god_is_good_808A book on Romans by R.C. Sproul, pulling down strong holds by R.C. Sproul Jr. and an old book called freedom of the will (can't remember the author). @andrealucado
  • austindanephotoI'm reading Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo. It's so good but also really sad. I've been wanting to read Hillbilly Elegy, what did you think of it?
  • highfiversonI have two of those three on my "want to read" list! ''Tis the season I guess :)
  • christineeflowerMy winter reading list is Emotionally Healthy Spirituality by Peter Scazerro (just finished tonight), Sacred Rhythms by Ruth Haley Barton (reading two chapters a month), Anatomy of the Soul by Dr. Curt Thompson, and Seeking God Together by Alice Fryling. These are all part of my year one training in spiritual direction with Sustainable Faith, and I love it!
  • andrealucado@austindanephoto Behind the Beautiful Forevers is so good! I picked that up thinking it was a novel. I was 100 pages in before I realized it was NONFICTION 😊 Hillbilly Elegy is really good!
  • andrealucado@deviduerrmeier will have to read that!
