tcrwpWe are overjoyed to share this gem of a staff developer and person, Rachel Rothman, with you all! "When I was little I loved the Madeline books - always excited to go on an adventure with her! Number the Stars by Lois Lowry became an important book for me as I got older, as it was one of the first books I read where I felt that I was developing a real empathy for the characters, and, therefore, people who had experienced those events in history. I love to ride my bike after work. I ride through the park gives me a dose of fresh air and exercise that energizes me. I love going on adventures whether that be to a local spot or traveling somewhere far, spendng time with friends and family, and in addition to biking, I love to ski! Not many people know that I play the flute, and I've played at multiple friends' weddings. I never thought I'd do something like that, but when asked I couldn't say no! One of my favorite quotes to live by is ""One can never consent to creep when one feels an impulse to soar"" by Helen Keller. I feel so fortunate that I've found work that I am so passionate about, and my hope is that all children come to discover what that is so they have "the impulse to soar.""
- freckleladyThank you for sharing about your passion for reading and teaching Rachel. You are an inspiration to me and so many! Striving to soar is easier and more fun in a flock (or a gaggle). I hope to see you again soon!
