glyndebourneTonight and tomorrow are the final performances in the #GlyndebourneTour 2016.
Here’s a little Tour by numbers:
We spent 3 great weeks at Glyndebourne HQ and 5 on the road, taking with us 21 principal cast, 2 Supers, 2 children, 29 members of the Glyndebourne Chorus and 64 players in The Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra [using 158 orchestral parts]. It’s taken 10 ‘Megacube’ trailers to transport all scenery, props, costumes, wigs, lighting fixtures and orchestral instruments. 22 Stage technicians to facilitate a 24 hour operation. A Stage Management team of 6, a touring wardrobe, wigs and makeup team of 12, supported an additional team of local theatre staff. A lighting team of 8. 1 trailer full of items that will never be seen by an audience. This includes tools, hardware and fixings and even washing machines, dryers and ovens [in which the Wigs team dry all wigs ready for the next performance]. The biggest thanks to you, audiences new and old, for making Tour 2016 a season to remember.
