“I’ve been told that it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with me once you meet me.

As soon as you give me a pat or a scratch behind the ear I am all yours, and I’ll lean as close to you as possible in the hope that you’ll be caught up in my magnetic field and never ever leave me. If I have half a chance I’ll clamber up into your lap and stare at you adoringly, hoping that you’ll feel the same overwhelming sense of love that I do. It’s not a ploy, I just genuinely love people, and since I’m too old for that playing hard-to-get nonsense I’m upfront about my feelings and ready to shower you with all the affection in the world.

It’s embarrassing to admit, but I find little humans a bit scary, so a family with big people would be wonderful. It would also be fabulous if I was the only animal in my new home, at least for a little while. That way I can celebrate my forever family with no one else competing for your love. Even so, I’m all about self-development, so once I’ve had a little bit more training and doggy socialisation I may be willing to share my home (and human) with another friendly canine. That way it gives another pooch a second chance, and everyone deserves at least that.
I’ve fallen in love with lots of people who have come to see me, but I guess no one has felt the same way, because I’m still here waiting, with paws crossed, just desperately hoping my happy ending isn't too far away.” - Frankie, 5 yrs old, 65 days at RSPCA Burwood East
