forty11coachingWorking on weaknesses. Going into the workout can be stressful. What if I can't do it? What if I fail.
It's good practice and necessary, even though it's not always fun. Working on weakness is hard. It's humbling. And painful.
But it doesn't have to be a performance measure. It's a stimulus designed to slowly reconstruct those weaknesses into something stronger inside you. The end result of repetitively attacking these weaknesses, diligently over time, is confidence. Confidence in something new within you, and that is powerful || Today was ugly. Just ugly, no sugar coating it. But I got it done...the meat of the workout was a simple four miles at a target pace that I haven't sustained in exactly 5 months. Nothing in my body seemed to be working together or communicating with the rest of me. The cold and wet weather didn't help, cold and anxiety can sometimes do a number on my breathing and posture and eventually I just needed to take a break. Just a few long seconds to catch my breath and remind myself why I am here in this moment. And, to remind myself that this moment won't last forever. 🍷Cheers to personal victories 🍷 #realrunning
