Playing his homemade drum kit, fashioned from cans nailed to a wooden crate, Joseph “Coco Mo Joe” Barthelemy (1913- 1990) was known for his “One-man Buckie-Band.” In addition to his makeshift drums, he played the harmonica and performed classic songs for his audiences strolling the streets of the French Quarter.
