It's interesting to deliberately put on weight. For the most part, women are focused on being smaller. Weighing less. The left picture is during my competition prep. My final (lowest) weight was around 128 lbs. (I never had my body fat checked. My body fat at the beginning of my prep was 22%) The right photo is from last night. I'm up about 15 lbs from 'stage weight.' I opted for a faster reverse and I wasn't super focused on staying lean bean status. (A slower reverse diet enables a person to gain less weight but the cons are slower strength recovery and slower path to caloric surplus.) My goal wasn't to stay super lean. (I will never go crazy and put on excessive weight or fat either. Not necessary. Not healthy.) My goal was to build some actual muscle mass and, in order to do that, you need to be in a caloric surplus. So, I got there as quickly as possible! Yes, I have a muffin top. My abs aren't visible all day. BUT my strength is through the roof, my muscle mass is growing, and I'm eating 2,600-2,800 calories daily. Spring shreds will come. For now, I'm going to eat and lift and get comfortable with the weight on the scale going up! 🤘🏽#realtalk

  • bfzezimaIt's so nice to see someone post something about reverse dieting where there is actually a difference in their pictures actually between lean vs building stage. So many people talk about becoming comfortable with gaining weight when they are maybe two pounds heavier than when they were cutting. Being realistic really helps people like me who are bulking to trust the process of gaining muscle. Thank you! 😀😀

  • amandamariefitt@bfzezima Lol I agree! Many people reverse or go into 'growth' phase and continue to post photos of being only 1-2 lbs up from their lowest weight. That's all fine and dandy but most people don't have the time or patience for that slow of a reverse diet. A faster reverse comes with more weight and that's OKAY! Growing muscle faster is alright with me... accepting the extra weight takes a little longer. 😉
