On Sunday I raced with the senior men at the Athletics Ontario Cross Country Championships. Despite the fact that the women's Canadian Championship distance was increased to 10k this year (equal to the men's distance) and provincial branches voted on it, Athletics Ontario opted not to update their women's distance and keep it at 6k, while the men race 10k. To better prepare for the Canadian Championships on November 26th, I chose to race the men's distance. Athletics Ontario needs to equalize men's and women's cross country distances and offer women the same opportunities they offer to men to prepare for racing a national championship!
