On cloud nine! It has been magical evening. I was focused and calm. The mindset when climbing is actually fun! Sent the pitch 14 (5.14d) on my first go after a little warm up. Then, after it got dark and having heartbraking fall on the top of pitch 15 (5.14c or d), I could still give it one more shot and send it too. Skin feels to painful to continue tonight, but I will continue tomorrow!

Lexicon E11 flash ⚡ ✅

It was truly a special day and a moment in the UK, alongside the first ascentionist @neil.gresham, who was on a very responsible belay👌 I got scared, I tried hard, my heart was beating, but I made it to the final ledge without testing that massive whipper. More info to come, including a video on the YouTube channel❗

On a side note, I would like to explain precisely the style that I used. I watched all the videos available on the internet, but mostly focused on the footage of Neil Gresham. It was Neil who first rappelled down the route, cleaned and chalked it up for me ✌️Then, I rappelled down from the top approximately 8 meters to the right of Lexicon along the route Astra and watched Neil explain to me how to place the gear in the break and the moves in the upper headwall of Lexicon. Then I climbed back up to the top ledge and warmed up on the finger board 💪 I was lowered down by @craigmatheson_climber to the crux of Sixpence E6, looking to the right and ignoring the view towards the holds of Lexicon☝️

I started just above the break of Lexicon, doing the 3-meter crux of Sixpence and stopping just before I could touch or look into the final slot hold of Lexicon. Then I swung right to finish my warm-up by doing the final moves of Magical Thinking. I did this twice to warm up. After that, I racked up on the top ledge and speed-rappelled down along Lexicon, facing the lake so I would not get any view of holds at all.

After a short moment of concentration, I set off 👊

Foundation’s Edge 8C flash ⚡ ✅

Some years ago, I would never have thought I would be capable of flashing 8C❗ I never considered trying one 🤯 However, this winter, flashing some 8B+’s with margin, I began considering this option. I had this particular problem in my mind as a good candidate 👌 This spring, @dylan_chuat messaged me that he thought this was a great boulder for me. The spark was there. In the meantime, @yannick_flohe flashed Foundation’s Edge as the world’s first 8C this summer 👊 This made me even more psyched. The weather, shape aligned this November, and I knew I was ready 💪

Last week and my good try in Ziqqurat 8C made me even more confident. I arrived, well informed about all the betas by @dylan_chuat, with @marci_bomb and @gioplacci.sk to cheer and help me with more beta 🤜🤛

I set off, and after a perfect try, I was at the top of the boulder (FA by @dave_graham_). It felt effortless, pure perfection. Unbelievable moment 🙏

Later in the evening, I got really close to flashing another 8C, Big Nose 😅 I did 2 tries later 🤔

“Luftig kö till nålens öga” 8B (+) flash 🔥
First time bouldering in Sweden 🇸🇪 and what a day! Pretty unique how one single bloc can produce such a amazing quality lines. I saw a video of this unique compression roof-arete a few years ago and I knew I absolutely HAD TO climb this thing one day ✌️ I had a great crew with strong locals, lots of beta available and amazing and motivating vibes 🤌

The higher start to this arete is “Luftig kö till nålens öga” originally graded 8B+, then 8B was suggested. The lower start is called “Den nattliga havsfärden”, originally graded 8C by first ascentionist @carl.nilsask and repeated by @pama.luc recently, suggesting maybe 8B+ 😎

At first, I was described perfect beta by @pama.luc I went for the flash of higher start “Luftig kö till nålens öga”. Everything flowed really well, I got all technical details perfectly on this compression beast and I found myself at the final cut-loose, where I just tried really really hard (can’t remember when I had try so hard in the span of just a second) and I was on the top. I think hard 8B fits this line 👌

Then I went for the sitstart, kept giving tries until late evening, I got close, but I will have return! I think this start could be soft 8C? Amazing line and a day not to forget! Thank you the whole Kjuge crew 👊

The new, huge video of my bouldering adventures is out on my YouTube channel 👌 It covers my preparation, strategy and background behind flashing an 8C boulder 🤯 Who would have thought that moving to the sport climbing paradise of Arco 🇮🇹 would help to flash my hardest boulderproblem 💪

While there is no bouldering in Arco (Oh, there is, but I am sorry, it is really BAD), there is still Val Daone, which you can do in a day-trip, and many 8Cs in the Alps that are way closer from Arco than from home 😅 Combined with very good training conditions at the @italiaclimbing (FASI) training centre and wood board from @pie.vidi and @simonemabboni, it was a good opportunity to make this dream come true 🤯

I was just patiently waiting, getting stronger, and I got an amazing weather window 👊 I had 2 main objectives - one was Ziqurrat 8C in Aosta, Italy. Another was Foundation Edge 8C in Fionnay, Switzerland 🇨🇭

I got pretty close for Ziqqurat, which made me confident for Foundation Edge, but in flash tries, the pressure is intense, and so many things can go wrong ☝️

This packed video by @crimp.films includes ascents like Big Illusion 8C, Ziqqurat 8C, Gliese 581 8B+ flash, Ghost Ship 8B+ “flash”. And wait for the end of the most important one 🤜🤛

Good day in Val Daone 🇮🇹 Started the day oh-so-close-flash on Rude 8B or 8B+, which I did on my second try 🤔 Then I moved on for Big Illusion, first ascended by @stefanscarperi in 2020 and suggested 8C. I tried this bloc last summer in warm conditions and I could do the single moves. This year, a day after @rockmasterfestival we went together with @steghiso and @brookeraboutou and unlocked the sequence using a crazy trick I never really considered using. It involves putting a kneepad on your calf, and pulling with your calf on the arete 😅 That made the intro of the boulder a bit less tiring 💪

Yesterday, the moves felt very good, friction felt very good too, but afternoon turned into total epic as it got gradually more humid and I kept slipping after the crux move 😐 On the last possible try, with worse friction than before, I knew I had to try extra hard and somehow made it to the top 👌

The original method of Stefan is pretty hard and from the perspective of 2025, it could be 8C+ for sure☝️ With the calfbar trick, it could be 8C, but still not an easy one. The end is not to be underestimated and it is also for the friction part that feels just so much worse coming from the ground ✌️
