My First Communion. This photo of a lucky girl was cropped out of a group picture of other lucky first graders celebrating our First Holy Communion at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church! We were lucky because we were growing up in striving neighborhoods in 1970 Los Angeles, where hard working parents provided care, comfort, joy and lacy holy communion dresses and veils, suit pants and ties for important milestones like this. And we children, in turn, enjoyed the privilege of blissful ignorance about the perils of the world and how our parents made sure that we were protected.

So many children worldwide do not make it to the first grade because they do not have the lifesaving vaccines that help keep them safe. That’s why I am again supporting #Blogust with this #tbt pic!

This Blogust 2016, share a throwback baby photo of you or your child at an important milestone and for every social media like, comment or share (up to 30,000), MAM will make a donation to help provide a lifesaving vaccine to a child in need.

You press “like” and a lifesaving vaccine is donated! That easy! THX! Friends!
