• kerrymacpheeSo good to take silver at the British Champs yesterday on a course that really did reward the complete XC rider- technical, physical, tough, relentless and with the added weather it was a sketchy and greasy ride! Did I mention it was a loooong race too with over 1hr 45min of racing?! Loved the cool new features to the course and the tricky sections got harder as the fatigue started to set in!
Huge congrats to Annie Last who was in a different class and had a fantastic race and also to @maxinefilby- buzzing to be on the podium with her after our recent European World Cup trip :-) Totally got stuck in yesterday and by lap 3 I settled in, aimed to keep it smooth, ride sympathetically and not have any spills, thrills or punctures- a common theme on the Commonwealth course 😁 Yaldi to staying upright and achieving the goal... happy days 😆 The Merida 96 was perfect on the course- so nice to float over rocky sections with a full suss and not worry about heavy landings off the drops. Rock and Road were amazing in the pits, my sister did amazingly to take 8th, my wheels were amazing (thanks Jo Walters Trust) and Loch Duart were amazing at getting behind me the week leading up to the race.... what a fantastic team!

Thanks for the cool pictures @pammieb77!! Impressive haul from the Scottish contingent too... probably made a huge difference not having to travel down south for hours. On that note- my level of sympathy for those bemoaning the long journey to Scotland... big fat zero! All 5 British series races have been south of the border this year with 1 in Plymouth (miles away) and 2 in Wales and the Scots have alway had a big squad at all of those and always make a big effort 😊😊😊 #BritishChamps #CathkinBraes #ScottishCycling #CommonwealthCourse #LochDuart #RockandRoadCycles #Merida #Stans #Valors #HappyCyclist
