The 3rd photo in a series sharing my walk thru at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.
Asclepias eriocarpa preserved in drawer number two below the glass case of monarch butterflies.

I'm glad I peeked in these drawers. On top was Asclepias eriocarpa (woollypod milkweed) from 8/23/1976! Below that was A. vestita, californica, fascicularis & fruticosa. I couldn't see the full files on the four below.

It was exciting to see these documents preserved under glass. It got me thinking about 1995 when there were more monarchs and milkweed was abundant.

  • growmilkweedplants🐛 I just noticed the leaves appear to be chewed on by caterpillars. 🐛#danausplexippus
