2nd photo in this weeks series on the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.
The glass case of monarch butterflies is a display that attract and amuses visitors at the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History.
While looking at the butterflies my wife and I talked about identification of male and female monarch butterflies. Generally female monarchs have thicker black veins while the male has thinner black veins. The male has a pair of unique scent glands on the hind wings which look like black dots or bulges.
