Sportswriter John Shea @johnsheahey and @sfgiants legend and member of the @baseballhall Willie Mays met in San Francisco last week and talked about the upcoming book they have been working on “24: Life Stories and Lessons from the Say Hey Kid.” John and Willie have spent over 100 hours together on this project having endless conversations that bring incredible new content to this book. I have been helping John with the photographic research for the past nine months and it has been a blast being immersed into the life of the Say Hey Kid. Just being a fly on the wall while I was taking these pictures was incredible. Willie has insane recall and was telling stories about Bobby Thomson, Dusty Rhodes, Yogi Berra and more in a span of minutes. It was amazing! I have read the book through various stages of editing and I promise you this is a book baseball fans will not want to miss. Pub date is May 5 and it will be everywhere.
