I got Haven Moonlight’s name back to front in my “Stories” I am a ding dong and am publicly apologising for being incorrect! His name is Haven Moonlight and he lives @samuielephanthaven, an ethical elephant sanctuary, in #kohsamui #thailand. What strikes me is that he is never too far from his mother, the bond these 2 share, needs to be shared, because they are family and I think we all need to understand the importance of the relationship between a mother elephant and her baby. It’s new for me also to see these 2 Asian elephants and their relationship unfold. Haven Moonlight represents a new generation of freedom. Knowing the baby will not be taken from his mother brings immense relief though tinged with sadness, as seeing their bond makes me think of other mothers who were separated from their babies and the babies who were ripped from their mothers, all for commerce. Elephant tourism treats elephants as a commodity only. You can help stop this by saying; NO to elephant rides. NO to trekking NO to elephants used in shows NO to the traditionalists flaunting tradition over freedom and compassion. NO to control NO to bathing NO to painting NO to the exploitation of elephants. Just NO!
