New full custom build, this one using aluminium outer cups and a headband sent to me by a customer that they got from the diyearphone website. I added White Limba inner sleeves and Symphones V9 drivers with a custom cable from Ted at Headphonelounge. I also made a White Limba Y split for the cable.

Super simple, clean JBL322CT build for Bryan @the_overland_bar Had fun doing this one. Boxes are 3/4 inch Baltic Birch, internal volume is 3 cubic feet. Damping is natural wool insulation. No horn mod on these, but maybe later…

Can’t wait for the weather to cool, and make working in the workshop/garage a sane proposition. In the meantime, yesterday it was Altec 811 horns, today, it’s Altec 32C horns. I prefer the sound of these…they’re not as aggressive. I’m still using the JBL322C hi and low@frequency drivers and its stock crossover.

Since the heat has made working in the garage/shop extremely uncomfortable spent time playing with horns this morning instead. Thanks again @jammfactory for the 811s.

Spent time getting the grills for the 755C in Silbatone cabs done today. Mounted them with magnets. Now enjoying them with a very simple@setup: Schiit Gjallarhorn amp with the WiiM Pro Plus streamer (with the DAC set in NOS mode). Next for these speakers will be stands to get them off the ground a bit…

A smaller project this weekend. Decided I needed to hear the Fostex FF105WK in its recommended bass reflex enclosure. I couldn’t stop myself from using the experiment to test out some ideas on seamless cornering (no plywood edges showing on the sides and between the baffle and the body of the box) and to practice a little on making sure I got grain directions flowing properly.

Experiments with these little cabinets and the JBL328C drivers continue. This time I went back to the horn mod, but moved the connectors to the back to keep things a little cleaner. I’ve ordered upgraded Fostex attenuators. Those will be installed later. Also added legs to raise them off the floor a bit.
