I’ve been reminiscing a lot lately about my brief time spent at Majete National Park in #Malawi - where I was lucky enough to cook for @africanparksnetwork donor families during their groundbreaking #500elephants translocation. During one of my first drives through the park we came across this small herd and I sat and watched this baby playing with a very exciting stick and mock-charging us as we idled close by. Majete was the first park that African Parks took over management of and, after successfully rehabilitating a broken ecosystem and reintroducing animals that went extinct in the area due to poaching and/or ecosystem deterioration, the Malawian government asked them if they would manage all their national parks. What a testament to the work they do 🧡. It’s #goodnews stories like this (and about 100 more reasons) that motivates me to help/support them in any way I can! As a chef, the clearest path forward was a #cookbook dedicated to #conservation - “Cooking for Conservation, Tchad: A gastronomic Safari” is my love letter to this incredible organization. #cookingforconservation
