“Gratitude with Attitude”
@juiceGoddess presents A Holiday Cleanser
Yield: approx. 14 ounces
1/2 green apple (cored)
1/2 English cucumber
½ small or ¼ medium red beet
1/2 inch chunk of raw turmeric root (if fresh not available, use 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder sprinkled on oranges before juicing)
1 handful of fresh cranberries (approx. 1/2 cup)
1 orange (orange rind removed)
½ lemon (yellow rind removed)
½ tsp ground cinnamon (sprinkle on oranges before juicing)
1/8 tsp of organic vanilla alcohol-free extract (add after the juicing)
Optional: 1/2 inch of fresh ginger root
This beautiful, full-bodied, and boldly delicious cleansing juice is abundant in anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients that will help your body glide gratefully through the holiday season. Beets take a lead role as a deep liver cleanser and lend their earthy sweet flavor, while turmeric and the optional ginger quench inflammation and ease digestion with a little spicy kick. Lemon and apple support cleansing the liver and digestive system while cranberries add a seasonal zing and the bonus of anti-bacterial properties. Cucumber aids with extra minerals and amps up hydration on a cellular level, while orange offers a wonderful Fall flavor and loads of Vitamin C. Cinnamon adds warmth and helps stabilize blood sugar and vanilla is just plain irresistible. Try this delicious tonic before holiday meals and parties to minimize over-indulgences and fill you up with gratitude and goodness!
P.S. If you have never juiced beets before, be aware that it stains everything, including your insides. Don’t panic, you’ll know its “beeting” the toxins when it shows up again!
