yellowrunnerYour butt, thighs, hip flexors, ankles, core, and brain (to name just a few!) are going to benefit from this single exercise.
Doesn't matter if you workout 2 hours a day, if you then spend most of the day in the seated position then you likely have imbalances and weaknesses in your hips and glutes- which will negatively impact your running. So do this!
Tall torso(think run position)
Push hips back & engage glutes.
Stabilize the supporting leg
Place working foot on plate.
Slide foot out, then directly behind you & finally back to starting position.
KEY details here- STABILIZATION
If you're wobbling all over the place- focus on engaging that core and glutes- this is where you need to CONNECT your brain to your butt. Think about every movement- take your time- think,"smooth and stable"
You're also working on balance and coordination which are key to being a better runner.
Try 2 sets of 10-12 on each leg.
Work up to 3 sets of 20-30.
