Two strangers lent us their cabin on a private island for the night. Brad & Wayne had met John and Lily 10 miles downstream in Runnymede, said we're walking the Thames Path and camping out. Oh no, stay in our place. Go to this house in Walton-on-Thames, collect a key and oars from behind a gate, unlock a rowboat and row across

When we arrived at 8.30pm, the boat wasn't there. Wayne called John & Lily to let them know. So John called Sue who'd put us in touch with Clyde - but no, Sue phoned back, said she'd get her boys to find a boat & leave it ready for us after we got out of the pub. We rowed it across the Thames at 11pm and found a perfect riverside cabin
