  • joelsax47I always was a patriot. I didn't need this act to make me one.
  • mrthepete@joelsax47 I feel similarly. "Similarly" and not "the same" because, at some point, "patriotism" got redefined to prohibit criticism. That's what this week's comic is about. Back in the Bush years I got accused a lot of being part of the "Blame America First Crowd" which seemed to exclude patriots in its membership. Gave up trying to defend myself after a while. These days I have to really squint to see things I like about America. The things I don't like seem so big, they tend to block out the things I like.
  • joelsax47Patriotism is, among other things, the Courage to criticize your government, the ability to see propaganda, and the awareness that freedom isn't bought with guns but with the Truth.
  • mrthepete@joelsax47 #hippie! ;)
  • nerdpromcomicsofficialAmazing!
