What an amazing day at #AdoptAKitchen. Lots of new moms today attending. I went to the #farmersmarket and spent $18 (still had $5 produce left) and we made: two types of #quinoa one with roasted #curry purple and regular #cauliflower #onions #cilantro #lemon and crispy curry #tofu with #chickpeas // another with #chard from their #hydroponicgarden, garlic #kale carrot chickpea and #braggsaminos. Pictured here: super smart cutie loving it! He said "yum" right after his first bite. Then I bought each mom a #masonjar and we made #coconutmilk #strawberry overnight oats for their breakfast tomorrow. I drove the point home about how to source inexpensive clean food and showed them how much food was left over. That there are choices, and implementing some. The Food Program here is for shit and don't offer many clean options - this is an uphill battle and EVERYONE deserves clean food!! There is a farmers market down the street from the PATH housing group (People Assisting the Homeless) so I gave my moms homework: before I come back next time, go to the farmers market (you can use EBT cards there!) and buy some things, cook them with my classes in mind, and tell me what you did ! Thank you Ryan Bell (director of community PATH) for coming ! It's time to bring this with more chefs to other homes and expand the curriculum in conjunction with #AdoptAFamily! 💛🙏💟 ✌️#healthyliving #knowledgeispower #organic #noGMO #cleanfood #Healthyfamilies #cookinglessons #community
