Lately, I've been noticing a lot of people trying to become "influencers." Influencers of positivity or of happiness or of just change in general. But the thing is, it's not something you try to do. It's just something you are.* Influencing someone to be a more positive person or a more happy person or kind person comes from simply being one yourself and letting that speak for itself. Change forms from energy and energy is felt through the vibration or frequency of someone else. People can just feel it. When they just feel your light, when it's genuine, that's when you're an influencer - sometimes without even knowing it. Have you ever read someone's post regarding something along the lines of being happy or trying to inspire happiness but you could just feel* they weren't a sincerely happy person them-self? A thousand posts and long captions about your happiness/positivity or your desire to want to influence others will never be nearly as powerful as just letting your own light do the influencing for you. ✨ Everything starts from within. And people will always genuinely feel that. 🌻
Hi 👋🏽🤓 my name is Jocelyn! But most peeps call me Joce (pronounced Joss) or Joci (pronounced Jaw-see). I've been noticing a lot of followers I do not know checking out my insta-videos and clicking that blue button, so I've been wanting to introduce myself! 🌻 I'm currently in saguaro and creatives filled Tucson, AZ. I do quite a bit for various creative communities here, all revolving around event curation. I also love, love, love writing - so I run a blog called @jrecognize! Basically, creating conversation and bringing people together are two of my biggest passions! ✨ I'm constantly coming up with ideas (which I like to think of as a blessing). That being said, aside from what I already do - I'm currently working on two pretty huge projects I've been planning behind the scenes for a while now. One being a self-care based company and another being a women's streetwear brand. I won't say more! Just know it's in the works. 🤗 I currently work an awesome 9 to 5 at a coworking space while I work towards being my own boss! I can go on and on about who I am and what I do and what I'm working towards but these are the basics! I'm really happy with where I'm at in life and I'm really excited for what's coming. All this is your power. ✊🏽 Just make sure you surround yourself around women who support women, men that support women. Surround yourself around people who believe in you, inspire you, and make you feel good. Surround yourself around people that keep it real with you without being demeaning. Surround yourself around people who are as passionate as you are. Have people in your circle that'll encourage you and understand you after you make mistakes and after failures (because they'll happen). And if you don't have these people around you yet, be patient because as you keep working hard and doing what you love, naturally these people will appear in your life. In the meanwhile, focus on you and being your own biggest fan and your own biggest supporter. ✨

A week into reading this book and I'm over halfway through (fastest I've ever read a book of this size, lol). Working in a Coworking space, being surrounded by startups and entrepreneurs, being an aspiring entrepreneur myself, being surrounded by communities that strive towards creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem and living in a city that has great potential to be one - I do as much as I can to understand it from the ground up and from initially being an observer. I'm always a student constantly learning about what I get myself into and what I'm surrounded by. That being said, this book is a MUST READ! I'll go as far as to say that if you haven't read this book and you're an entrepreneur, an aspiring entrepreneur, a start-up company, are in some way, shape, or form in this community or are simply interested in the entrepreneurial community - you are lacking valuable knowledge!** You'll discover things that are lacking in your community, ways you can improve it, how you can get involved, what you may even be doing wrong (no matter how long you've been doing it) and more! Anyways, it's a must read. So go read it. 🤓 #HappySaturday
Have you ever said or done something out of pure, quick reaction and later regretted not having letting it process first before taking any action? We've all done it. We've all been there. I remember reading a quote once that said something along the lines of "respond. don't react." And that has been stuck in my head ever since. There's such a huge difference between responding and reacting. This past week I've really been challenging myself by changing some bad habits that I've had that relate to doing things out of pure reaction. I've been making the conscious effort of making sure I step back, digest the situation, and then respond with intent. Often when we react to things we end up acting out in a way we genuinely don't wish to, simply because it's out of habit. Change starts with awareness. Growth starts with change. 🌱
Sometimes I get so caught up that I forget to look at the bigger picture. And to be honest, when I take a step back and see everything that's ahead of me in this life I start to tear up. Because I know I'm someone who will say they're living their dream and what they're doing is bigger than them. I'm so excited. I'm already so happy and grateful for it.
