The fact that she will already be 3 months old this weekend breaks my heart.
Slowly but surely, I'm starting to feel more like myself again. No one could have prepared me for what postpartum would be like and no amount of makeup seems to cover the exhaustion that's permanently plastered to my face, but that's ok. I'm just thankful for the moments I have that make me feel like a human.
Most days, I'm the only suitable nap "location" for her, and I am absolutely fine with that. These are the kind of moments I wish to remember, these are the moments I cherish. Being her mama has been the biggest blessing of my life, but honestly, it has not come without challenges. Right now my days, and my life revolves around her, and her needs, and again.. I'm ok with that. I love how much she needs me, I love to feel needed by her, and it's such an amazing feeling to be the only person to bring her the comfort that she needs. Yes, it makes going out next to impossible right now, yes I've "put my life on hold" so to speak, but that's ok.. to me, that's what being a mom is all about. I've given up a lot, but I have gained SO MUCH in return. Yes, I might not be able to give her a pacifier and pass her off to someone else with a bottle so that I can go do what I want to, but that's ok. To be transparent, it wasn't at first, it was really difficult... I've had an extremely hard time giving up the freedom I once had. But every time I look down at my beautiful daughter, I'm reminded of how absolutely worth it she is, and how I wouldn't change a thing. I remember that these moments are fleeting, and that someday all too soon she won't want to nap on my chest, she won't want to snuggle all day, one day she will be independent, and she won't need me like she needs me right now. So for now, I sit here on my couch, and I enjoy my baby girl, and that is the most important thing in my life right now.
