In February 1968, The Beatles travelled to Rishikesh, India to attend Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Ashram to learn transcendental meditation. Although the Ashram is now derelict it has recently been reopened so we went for a visit. And so our (massively extended due to me getting my lovely amoeba friend) time in Mcleodganj comes to an end. I'm not going to lie, I was cursing this place while I was sick but I've come to love it and the scenery is amazing. In this picture I was looking out on to the valley, it's beautiful! Massive shout out to the wonderful people at @bodhigreens for keeping us vegans fed & watered and welcoming us as friends everyday. Decided to go to the hospital yesterday after I had plateaued and didn't seem to be getting any better. After some organised chaos of going from the doctor's room to the laboratory and back to the doctor's room I found out I actually have an amoeba which is causing dysentery, a bacterial infection and dangerously low potassium levels 😱 which explains why I haven't been feeling too well for the past week! I've now been prescribed a shit ton of antiprotazoals, antibiotics, anti-nausea pills, painkillers, oral rehydration salts and potassium chloride solution. I am officially a walking pharmacy and thank god I went to the doctor cause this could have been pretty serious if I hadn't! On the plus side seeing the doctor cost 15p and all of the medication was less than £3 so I can't complain!
