Words can't describe how good it feels to not have to wear 50 layers of clothing (under my down jacket) to avoid hypothermia. Aloha!
On a less happy note than Cats of Dubai, we've earned the dreaded SSSS status (aka enhanced security screening). This will likely dog us for a while, and we won't have our TSA Pre-Check while it does. We knew this could be a consequence of traveling to Istanbul, but I don't regret our trip one bit!
Ok, one gratuitous Cats of Dubai photo before we leave. This lil girl was catching some shade at Kite Beach. Her fur was very short and dense, unlike the domestic shorthairs at home. The Dubai strays also were much leaner than their Istanbul cousins, which I suspect is due to genetics, not access to food.

You can't buy a cold beer (or other adult beverage) at a Dubai mall restaurant for love or money, but you can buy an inflatable Santa and reindeer.

Not gonna lie...it's weird to be listening to "Let it Snow" in my hotel lobby in a Muslim country where today's forecasted high is 86 degrees.
One more gratuitous Cats of Istanbul photo before I jet off to Dubai. It's nice to see that at least some cats have a pal to help keep them warm!
Inside the Grand Bazaar. A lot of fake designer bags and cheap soccer jerseys in old, opulent surroundings (to be fair, there was some cool merchandise there, too). We only bought two cheap Turkish flag T-shirts there, and did most of our shopping at the Spice Bazaar and Arasta Bazaar. Spices, pestemals and Turkish coffee beans (and coffee pot and hand grinder), oh my!
