One year ago, I turned 30 and had the pleasure of taking the stage with @brothermoses in Columbia, Missouri as I walked through the Show Me State. I spent a few of the best days of my life in CoMo, with the some of the best people in the world. A birthday I'll not soon forget. This year I turn 31 and spend most of my days at a real-life, adult job, in an office with a computer screen, and clients, and conference calls. Both lives have their advantages, and neither is necessarily better. There were a few dozen times on the walk when I longed for a regular life, and there's been dozens of times in my cubicle where I longed for the walk. So, I've learned to love both and be thankful I'm lucky enough to have them on my life resume. Side note: if you live in Memphis. Brother Moses is playing tonight at the Hi Tone at 8 pm. One year ago today I stepped out of the Pacific Ocean and started a long walk to Boston. A breezy, cool day that I'll never forget.

In 2016 I saw so much that this country has to offer. The people, the climates, the food, and the many different cultures; it was an astoundingly enlightening year. I'm lucky and hope that luck continues into 2017. Happy New Year, y'all.

I got a very large map heat pressed on some foam board today and put a pin in every town I walked through. Hung it up next to my computer desk. Pretty fun pushing pins and reliving the memories.

My best friend from childhood Charles spent the weekend with me. Charles the stroller was named after Charles the human. Charles lived with me for a few years and he and I would walk to the local Baskin Robbins a couple times a week. It was only about a mile and a half but it felt much longer to a couple seventh graders. Those walks are some of my best memories and my stroller was named in his honor.
