L I F E I S L I Q U I D It was incredible to see how many people talked about #worldoceanday yesterday. Over the years I've had the privilege of embarking on many surf trips, and can, without a doubt, say that the water is a second home for me. However, unfortunately, I've rarely gone into the ocean without spotting plastic and pollution of all sorts. While we have a long way to go before the oceans or marine life are released as prisoners of toxicity, I'm absolutely sure that a movement towards a clean world has already begun. We need water. It's the number one thing that keeps us going. Let's be warriors of life. Let's pursue with passion. Let's realize that the center of our life is not merely dependent on the economy, but a stable, clean, and functional home. 🌊🙏 #weareoceans #worldoceanday

P E R S P E C T I V E “We all know quite a number of people who have everything that it would take to be happy, but they are not happy…because they want something else, or more of the same. But we all know people who have lots of misfortune yet are deeply happy: who radiate happiness. Why? because they are grateful.” - unknown While I believe there are exceptions to this, where people are unhappy due to severe misfortune, many (including myself) often forget to be grateful. Personally, I find it to be the result of two things: lack of perspective, and the “purposeless” continuation of habits. Sometimes it is important to zoom-out and realise all the fortune around you - to not take life for granted. Moreover, let’s have the courage to question our habits and the strength to change them. Listen. Laugh. Love. Wishing everyone a happy spring (or fall)! 💪☀️

G R A V I T Y So many times we struggle to take time out of our day to do what we love. Many say they don’t even know what they love doing. While I believe this is true, I also believe everyone has the answers to the question “what do I love?”. I think finding what you love, is similar to throwing a ball up into the air. Whether the ball likes it or not, it will come back down. It’s the rule of physics - the law of gravity. Similarly, doing what you love may not be a choice, rather something life will draw you to, regardless of how hard or little you try. Having said that, I believe many people resist doing what they enjoy most. They are confined by the ideas of others, what they “ought to do” and what others expect of them. So, I pass on the advice I was given. As a wise friend said to me: “instead of focusing on searching for love, focus on removing the barriers to it.” Listen to yourself and allow yourself to do what you enjoy most. With all the adventures I've had the privilege of diving into, the most rewarding ones have always been between myself and the people I have met...they make the good unforgettable and the painful times bearable...they teach you lessons and prove to you just how important it is to share love, respect & happiness. One of these special people once said to me "the good people, you'll always see again"...yesterday I found out that two of the most special people I have met traveling, seen spontaneously on three different continents, are on their way to visit me today. Sometimes the best things come to you when you least expect them. Be grateful, be happy, and let those who mean the world to you, know that they do. I took this photo of Stevie - who I had randomly met in LA at a hotel - on our journey through New Zealand...shortly after parting ways with the two special gems that are visiting me today 🌏🙌🏻
2017: a year where I'm planning to go looking for more adventures, listen to myself more deeply, and appreciate the winds of life more fully. A shot of my first ski trip this year. Wishing everyone the best for the coming 360 days!
The other day I heard someone say "people are walking around as if they're coming back...even though they're not. We have this one life, so walk and wander, stare in awe." Wishing everyone happy holidays - a time where you should look back only to see how far you've come. Let's not forget that real muscle is built by climbing mountains...and not by standing in the valley looking up.
C A S T R O ' S C U B A I feel lucky and privileged to have experienced this incredible place while Castro was still alive. It opened my eyes to the importance of immersing myself into worlds I know nothing about...of cherishing, respecting and admiring differences in people, places and culture. I hope Cuba won't lose it's magic to mass-consumption; to the era of McDonaldization. Let's realize that cultures hold far more value than the monetary benefits that come from abusing them. Be gentle. Be kind. Be reminded by the fact that true beauty is found in diversity.
F O C U S. When Michelangelo was asked about how he managed to create the most beautiful sculptures out of such simple stone, he responded with this: "every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover It." The world reflects to you, what you chose to see in it. Focus. Chose love.

G R O U N D E D No matter how high you've climbed, remember to watch your feet, the higher you go, the further you have to fall...now that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy the view, just the opposite, be proud of how far you've come...but don't forget your footing and don't forget that elevation gain does not equal growth. Grow tall. Be proud. Appreciate every step of the way.
Create the space you want to be in. I've come to realize that most impossible goals and dreams I have, are merely those I'm simply not passionate enough about... the things I truly care about and love, I usually find a path to...as one of my best friends always says - "where there is will, there is way." This photo was taken on the rooftop of one of my favorite places in the world, after many long weeks of surfing, singing and laughing.
