⁶¹⁹ Oh hey everyone ✌🏼 I hope you enjoy these random facts about the guy in the beanie (me): -- #1. My name’s Andrew, I’m 6’7, I lived in Europe for the first two decades of my life, and I’m afraid of heights. #2. I don't enjoy being the center of attention, which is why you probably haven't seen much of me on here. But I want to give you a clearer picture of my life and process, so I’m working on changing that. Think of this as a first step. #3. I am an explorer; of faith, of art, of music, of this planet, and of people. There’s so much out there but so little time to see and know it all, so I try my best to learn something new every day. #4. I love rainy, cold, and gloomy weather. It pushes me into a reflective state where I can process and create more clearly. Plus, I always wear pants and layers, so hot weather is kind of my mortal enemy. #5. When I was a kid, I dreamed of growing up to be a treasure hunter. It probably explains my love for the sea and why Pirates of the Caribbean (the 1st one) is one of my favorite movies. #6. My diet primarily consists of frozen pizza and canned soup. Why, you might ask? It’s cheap, it’s quick and easy to make, and because pizza is just the greatest food ever. #7. I wear hats a lot. It’s not necessarily because I like hats or anything… it’s more because my curly hair is getting long and I haven’t gotten around to cutting it #priorities #8. There’s a lot of things I want in life, but it’d be really great if we could all just agree that toilet paper should fall in front of the roll and not behind it. #9. I’m not entirely convinced that bigfoot isn’t a real thing. Also… ATLANTIS. It’s gotta be out there somewhere. #10. Wild Card: Ask me a question in the comments below and I’ll try my best to answer it. -- If you read through all 10 points, I applaud you. ⁶¹⁷ Take a few creatives, send them to the mountains, and see what happens. That’s what Thalia and I decided to do back in February. I made the two hour drive to Boone and she told some of her friends about the hike. We came from a mix of creative backgrounds: music, videography, design, and photography. We all knew each other to varying degrees, so we spent the day getting to know each other. But despite our differences, we all shared a common trait: an appreciation for each other’s art. ⁶¹⁵ "The wipers squeaked and skidded back and forth across the windshield as we drove down I-40. It was a slow Monday morning in January so we had the highway mostly to ourselves. The sky mirrored the asphalt below and teased us with a soft mist. It's gloomy, overcast days like this that seem to draw me to the mountains most. I yawned and dragged my hand down my face, a poor attempt to wipe away the lingering jet lag from my flight the day before. I had spent most of Christmas in Budapest with my family and had just arrived back in the US. I was tired; but with the news of cloudy skies in the forecast, hiking quickly became a priority. We changed lanes and caught each other up on the last couple of months. We sipped our coffee and gently wrapped our hands around our warm to-go cups to fend off the cold that was slowly creeping into the car.
